This is MIGI'S CORNER at the Philippine Heart Center. Located on the third floor of the hospital, it is part of the Children's playroom in the Pediatric Wing. Children are given a choice of activities - from reading a book, to playing with puzzles or board games, playing with a dollhouse, riding a toy horse or simply watching their favorite cartoon or movies on video.

The corner is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This corner has been particularly helpful to children who are about to undergo heart surgery. Normally, such children are no longer allowed to take anything by mouth eight hours before prior to their operation.

MIGI'S CORNER provides them with a "diversion" so that they tend not to focus on their pending surgery and in many instances, the child is able to forget about food while waiting their time for surgery. Afterwards, post-op, MIGI'S CORNER provides them with an incentive to get back on their feet, slowly but surely so that they can go and play with the toys at the Corner.
