"Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy." Inspired by an Eskimo Legend |

Migi's Corner is a special place where sick children can find momentary solace, joy and comfort through the various activities provided for at the corner. The idea for migi's corner was inspired by four year old FRANCISCO MIGUEL "migi" BABAO-GUBALLA who was born in February 21, 1994 with a congenital heart disease called Tetralogy of Fallot. In the early evening of June 3, 1998 after complications arising from an open heart surgery, the Heavenly Father called Migi back to his real Home. The first MIGI'S CORNER opened in February 20, 1999 at the Pediatric Wing of the Philippine Heart Center. Part of the existing Children's playroom was converted into a reading nook with a wide collection of books, a quiet play section and a viewing area complete with a television set, a vhs player and a video library - these comprised the first migi's corner. All of the toys, books, tapes, t.v. and funding that went into this project came from the hearts of so many kind and generous donors who very willingly gave of themselves to make this dream come true. Because of their generosity and the amount of toys, books and tapes that continued to arrive, a second migi's corner - MIGI'S CORNER TOO , was opened within the Medical Library of the Philippine Children's Medical Center on Quezon Avenue in Quezon City last June 12, 1999. Both corners were designed by young and talented Pam Agabin (phagabin@yahoo.com) from the University of the Philippines College of Interior Design. Murals at the corners were painstakingly and lovingly done by INK (Ilustrador ng Kabataan) geniuses Ouie Badelles and Jason Moss - for MIGI'S CORNER at the Philippine Heart Center and Aina Zulueta and Maita Beltran for MIGI'S CORNER TOO. All these they did unselfishly and with much love. Currently under construction is a third project, not only a MIGI'S CORNER but, by God's grace, a MIGI'S ROOM for the young cancer patients of the East Avenue Medical Center.
